What is Go Dry?

Go Dry is a campaign to bring awareness to liver disease and provide financial support for our educational programs and patient services offered to the millions of Americans battling one of the 100 known liver diseases. During the month of January, the American Liver Foundation is asking the public to help raise funds and awareness by not drinking alcohol.

Funds raised will allow the American Liver Foundation to further our mission to promote education, advocacy, support services and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease.

Is there a registration fee or required fundraising minimum?

No, but it is strongly encouraged that you raise a minimum of $100. Click here for fundraising tips

How long do I have to “Go Dry” for?

There is no predefined time, but it is suggested you accept the challenge for one month or 30 days.

Can I start a team?

Yes, the more the merrier! If you already registered and would like to create a team, please contact Alise Jackson at ajackson@liverfoundation.org. We can also help if you would like to approach your company about starting a corporate team.

How do I fundraise?

American Liver Foundation staff are available to offer support throughout your fundraising process. Contact Alise Jackson at ajackson@liverfoundation.org) today to set up a brainstorming session. What happens if I have a drink?

No problem, we ask that participants make a $25 donation to their fundraising efforts if they need a “hall pass”.

Who do I make checks payable to?

American Liver Foundation. Also remember to include your name in the memo section of each check as this will ensure donations are credited to the correct participant.

Can I fundraise through Facebook?

We ask that you do not create a Facebook fundraiser for the Go Dry challenge. If you have already created a Facebook fundraiser, please email Alise Jackson at ajackson@liverfoundation.org. Donations made through a Facebook fundraiser will not be reflected on your personal fundraising page.
